The Independence Forum wishes to unite the independence movement by providing an opportunity to inform, motivate and encourage cooperation across the Scottish Independence movement.

We aim to develop a shared vision for a future Scotland as an independent nation by enabling pro-independence people to work together on a non-party political basis.

Our commitment

• Capture enthusiasm: Harness the passion within the independence movement by resolving conflict, reducing duplication and encouraging a focus on positive action for meaningful change.
• Seek consensus: We are committed to drafting a common vision prospectus for an independent country which answers key questions and identifies the practicable routes to achieving independence.
• Build membership: Establish a membership base of non-party political national bodies, regional groups and networks, and encourage others to participate by joining or forming networks.
• A National Convention: Drive the formation of a National Convention, a regular gathering aimed at inspiring the nation towards self-determination.

What we will do

• Review key topics by examining existing research, seeking common ground on key issues by exploring different viewpoints.
• Provide clear communications that can be effectively shared through traditional and social media platforms.
• Energise the nation and build a well-informed populace about key issues surrounding Scottish independence.
